At Tumult, you develop your musical skills in a way that suits you. After all, everyone has their own learning style, musical taste, abilities and pace of development.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced musician, you can join us for instrumental music lessons, small-group lessons, courses, workshops and band coaching. There are plenty of opportunities to make music together in ensembles, orchestras, choirs, combos and bands.

Tumult is home to a vibrant world of musical styles, from pop and classical music to world music, electronic music and everything in between. And, of course, there’s jazz — Groningen is home to one of the largest amateur jazz communities in the Netherlands!

We offer a place for broad musical development, for all ages and skill levels. Whether you want to learn to play an instrument and read music, deepen your understanding of music, or explore listening, composing, improvising, playing together and performing — there’s something for everyone.
