Groningen has one of the Netherlands' largest jazz scenes. There are few music schools with so many jazz activities as Tumult. Are you a jazz lover and do you want to play together, improvise, jam and follow masterclasses? It's all possible with us! Every Monday evening, we are completely devoted to jazz with the Jazz Train: a succession of jazz bands, jazz combos and open jazz sessions for all ages and every level. A unique concept in the North!

In addition, there are many bands, ensembles, choirs and orchestras within Tumult that you can participate in. And for existing jazz combos we offer coaching by appointment. Making music together with others is not only fun, but also educational. You are challenged to listen carefully to each other and to dare to solo. Moreover, we regularly play at festivals, such as Swingin' Groningen and Noorderzon, and on our own stages. We also visit jazz concerts together at a reduced rate.
