In this course, you’ll explore several traditional rug-making techniques using only manual tools, no electricity needed. With tools like the punch-needle, rug hook, and manual tufting tool, you'll learn how to create with yarn in a slow, intentional way.
We’ll cover everything from selecting fabrics and yarn to building your design. You’ll practice how to embroider confidently and experiment with depth, pile height, color, and detail. Along the way, you’ll discover how different yarns create different textures and how rug-making can go far beyond just making rugs.
The goal: to learn the techniques, then use them to create your own piece. Whether that becomes a rug, clothing, accessory, furniture piece, everyday object, or abstract artwork - that’s entirely up to you. Everything is possible. And everything can be made with yarn!
This course is taught in English.
