In this photography course you will be introduced to the technical and conceptual aspects of digital photography. As the course progresses, the focus gradually shifts from technical skills to discussing the content of photographs.
You will work on targeted assignments covering topics such as portrait, landscape, and reportage photography. Subjects addressed include exposure, depth of field, motion blur, and the possibilities of your lenses. We will also reflect on how to frame a subject and the purpose of a photograph. What do you want to show, and how can you present your subject in the most effective way?
For this course, you will need a camera that allows you to manually adjust exposure, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. It is important that you can set aside about an hour each week for homework assignments.
Please note: this course consists of 10 lessons, 8 will take place on weekday evenings. The remaining 2 lessons will be scheduled on Saturdays in consultation with the group.
