The bağlama, also known as the saz, is a traditional string instrument from Turkey. It is often used in Turkish music genres such as 'fasıl' and 'türkü.'
With its distinctive three double strings, played with a plectrum called a ‘mızrap,’ the bağlama offers a unique sound that can be both melodic and rhythmic. This makes it a versatile and beloved instrument, capable of shining in solo performances but also commonly used to accompany other musical instruments and vocals.
In the lessons, you will not only learn how to play the instrument and develop technical skills but also gain insight into the cultural context and traditions in which this instrument plays an important role.
